you can find CERTIFIED woman owned businesses (or women business enterprises~WBEs)
in the US. Links provided are to public, state maintained databases or directories
which include certified WBEs.
Most all of the states maintain the databases regularly. Occassionally they
will move the link so if you find a "dud" please feel free to alert
us, we try to keep them current.
Each state has their own definition of certification eligibility. Some states
refer to WBEs as disadvantaged (DBEs), others classify women as minorities
(MBEs).
Some federal and local contracting authorities require separate certification
processes and maintain their own databases (for example the US Dept of Transportation).
In
a few states, only downloadable directories are available in .pdf format.
